Katie Bates is an art graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a focus in graphic design and a minor in marketing. She got her start through art classes at her high school, Hewitt Trussville, and feels lucky to be able to get her bachelor’s in studio art so close to home. 

Katie recently won a Student Silver ADDY for her logo design for Clover's Books & Bindings. Her graphic design poster Cholla hung at the Gadsden Museum of Art at the beginning of 2024, and many of her risograph prints sold at Gobble Gobble Fest at Lowe Mill towards the end of 2023. 

Her art is mostly centered around designing and brand work, but she also has ventured into oil painting, pottery, risographs, and sculpture during her time at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
